A new law took effect on January 1, 2019, requiring virtually all California employers to provide sexual harassment prevention training to all employees. By January 1, 2021, employers with five or more employees must provide one hour of sexual harassment prevention training to non-supervisory employees and two hours of such training to supervisors. In order to comply with the January 1, 2021 deadline, all employees must be trained during the calendar year 2019. Employees who were trained in 2018 or before will need to be retrained.
