HR To Do List: March

March 1, 2024

Can you believe we’re 3 months into 2024??!! With the end of the first quarter approaching, it’s a good time to review your goals and make sure everything is on track for Q1.

The first Friday in March is Employee Appreciation Day! It’s an excellent opportunity to show your employees how much you value them. Consider some creative ways to celebrate their hard work. Spread workplace happiness by supporting a local business… cupcakes anyone??!!

March is National Women’s History Month, and there are many ways to get involved. Celebrating women in the workplace is an important aspect of promoting gender equality and creating an inclusive and supportive work environment. Here are some ways we can celebrate women in the workplace:

Recognize and reward achievements: You can recognize and reward women who have achieved significant milestones or made outstanding contributions to the organization. This can include awards, bonuses, promotions, or public recognition.

Provide equal opportunities: HR can ensure that women have access to the same opportunities as men in terms of career development, training, and promotions. This can involve reviewing policies and procedures to ensure that they are fair and inclusive.

Support women’s networks: Get involved and support women’s networks or affinity groups within the organization to provide a forum for women to connect, share experiences, and support each other.

Celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month: Let’s celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month by organizing events, workshops, or seminars that promote women’s empowerment and highlight the achievements of women in the workplace.

You can check out the National Women’s History Project or visit the Women’s History Month website for ideas.

On March 10th, Daylight Savings Time begins, except for Arizona and Hawaii. Remind your employees to spring forward and adjust their clocks accordingly.

St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Sunday this year, if your company is planning to celebrate that Friday leading into the weekend, be sure to communicate your expectations for appropriate behavior.

March 14 is Pi Day, a perfect excuse to bring some pie into the office as a fun treat for your team.

Finally, remember to keep your OSHA Form 300A posted this month to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
